Wolverine: Origins
WA Wolverine: Origins #1 Signed by Michael Turner
I was browsing Wizard Entertainment this morning and made a few interesting discoveries. The one that stood out the most is a WA Wolverine: Origins #1 Signed by Michael Turner that’s due to ship by Late April, 2006. Wolverine is a favorite and has been for many years. With the recent X-MEN movies and the hype associated with them, Wolverine has even reached out into a new audience of people who may have never even purchased a comic book. I personally have always enjoyed the story behind this mysterious character. The Origins and Endings series was great in that it answered some questions and filled in some grey areas. This next round looks to be very promising.
Michael Turner is a name you may not recognize. He is the co creator-owner of Soulfire, Witchblade and Fathom. Mikes cover gallery is more than impressive and includes several covers for Wizard. His work is amazing and you will be sucked right into it. On August 6, 2005, Marvel Comics announced the signing of Michael Turner to a work-for-hire deal for a 6-issue project and covers. This would turn out to be at least the variant covers for the miniseries Civil War and the new Wolverine ongoing series Wolverine: Origins.

X-Men Editor Mike Marts has stated in many interviews that there are lots of exciting things to surface in this next year in the way of story line along with quality art as a result of bringing in masters like Mr. Turner. The Wolverine Origins is one to name a few. Its an exciting time. Mike Marts could win a Wizard Fan Award this year for favorite editor. He deserves it. Go vote for him here.
